thermal energy
"Thermal energy is like the average of all the kinetic molecules in a body. Thermal energy comes from the kinetic energy of the molecules."
Thermal energy, perceived as warmth to human touch, is caused by the vibration of molecules of an object. You can't directly feel the molecules vibrating;you feel the effect. Now think about a glass bottle of un-popped popcorn. If you shake it and the popcorn hits the inside of the bottle, it makes noise. This is somewhat like the molecules vibrating and creating perceptible thermal energy.
"Development of new geothermal energy is, like hydroelectric power, limited by the availability of suitable geologic sites in the U.S "

METAMIA is a free database of analogy and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search. The subject matter can be anything. Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged. The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with the stark literalism of a relational database. Metamia is like a girdle for your muses, a cognitive girdle.
