Metaphorical Writing Networked

Writers:

Publish A Sample Of Your Work That Is Metaphorical.

Searchable systematic referenced non literal thinking and writing is the goal of metamia.com. One of the criticisms of search engines is that they tend to punish writing and writers that do not fit into the literal keyword scheme. Search engines deliver relevance based on the entry of keywords. Figurative language can be interpreted as spammy and irrelevant and may be penalized in page rankings. Much of human expression is neither literal nor logical

The goal of metamia.com is to capture, organize and make accessible this mode of expression. The potential users are writers, teachers, artists, bloggers or anyone else who wishes to contribute. The entries will be searchable on the website itself and all search engines that have crawled the site. The goal is to build a website that organizes good writing that will not be punished by search engine rankings that have a necessary bias toward keyword literalism.

The site is a simple 2-tiered system. If you register your entry goes right into the live dataset. If you do not want to sign up for an account, you can submit through a form that requires no registration. However, all entries submitted without registration are reviewed before being put into the live database. This will keep the spam on the site to a minimum. This scheme is not rigid. It, mostly likely, will be modified based on constructive user feedback.

METAMIA is a free database of analogy and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search. The subject matter can be anything. Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged. The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with the stark literalism of a relational database. Metamia is like a girdle for your muses, a cognitive girdle.
