a: sonar ~
b: audio spotlight

A sound spot light it is like. A sonar sends out audio waves into the water. When those waves encounter a solid object, like a ship or the bottom of the ocean, the waves are reflected. A spotlight is pointed at someone on a dark stage to illuminate them. The projected light is reflected by the subject and they become visible in the darkness.

METAMIA is a free database of analogy and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search. The subject matter can be anything. Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged. The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with the stark literalism of a relational database. Metamia is like a girdle for your muses, a cognitive girdle.
