a: sales ~
b: a taco
"But no matter where the idea originated, for several months the analogy of "sales is like a taco" has stuck in my head like a delicious kernel of elote. Now, the time is nigh to share it with the world because, well, who doesn't love tacos?"

Sometimes It Hurts
a: Sales management ~
b: Brushing a Little Girls Hair
What: "Managing a sales team is very similar. There are a bunch of things sales people yell "ouch" about. Entering stuff into the CRM system, doing expense reports, administration tasks, making cold calls, etc., all drive sales people crazy. Getting sales people to embrace all aspects of their job is no different than brushing my girls hair. You have to engage them in the process. It's sales leaderships job to find ways for the sales team to own the process and to feel like they are participating NOT having something done to them."

a: A sales person without energy ~
b: a car without gas
What: "A sales person without energy is like a car without gas. It doesn't work without it. Energy is essential for overcoming adversity and rejection, physical endurance, positive thinking, contagious enthusiasm and passion."

METAMIA is a free database of analogy
and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search.
The subject matter can be anything.
Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged.
The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with
the stark literalism of a relational database.
Metamia is like a girdle for your muses,
a cognitive girdle.
