radiant heat

n=1

a: Radiant heat ~
b: light

What: "Radiant, happens when there is no contact but there is a view of the heat source. Stand in the sun in summer and sweat your tail off. Step under a large tree and feel much cooler. The temperature under that tree is the same as not under the tree, but you are not in direct view of the sun. Radiant heat is like light. It travels in a straight line, step out of the direct sun light and you are no longer exposed to the radiant heat from the sun."

METAMIA is a free database of analogy and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search. The subject matter can be anything. Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged. The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with the stark literalism of a relational database. Metamia is like a girdle for your muses, a cognitive girdle.
