Palo Alto is like the diary
a: Palo Alto ~
b: the diary of the one of its many protagonists
What: "In total, Palo Alto is like the diary of the one of its many protagonists - not properly formed, troubled, depressing. It's only a glimpse, a snapshot, of something much more profound, and the truth is that if pretty-boy James Franco wasn't its author, it probably would never have seen a large audience." This quote refers to the Novel "Palo Alto". How much it reflects the city itself is unclear.

Palo Alto Is Like Protest-central On The Peninsula
a: Palo alto ~
b: Protest-Central on the Peninsula
What: "Protest-as-Entertainment: Palo Alto is like Protest-Central on the Peninsula Traveling Protest Circuit, a sumptuous whole-wheat-and-sprouts feeding ground a cut above the dreary hardscrabble of bad mayonnaise and old potato-salad where they might actually swell their numbers with the real unwashed like San Leandro or Richmond - and it's safe too, with its conveniently located amenities,"

Crazy Old People
a: Palo alto city council ~
b: The Retirement Home on Seinfield
What: The retirement community shown on Seinfield, del Boca Vista, is common. When people retire after busting their asses their whole lives and then have nothing to do, problems arise. Note the lunacy of the Palo Alto City Council. Palo Alto is a town with 1 grocery store left because no one wants one by their house. This may be, unfortunately, the future of California and the USA. We will become society run by demented old people who have the time, the money and the political will to turn the whole country into a big crazy retirement community.
