The Curvy Plot Of David Lynch

a: Mulholland drive ~
b: A figure-8

What: This movie confused me the first time I saw it. It was in a small theatre with about 100 people. At the end, there was a stunned silence. I was thinking, but didn't say, "what the fuck was that". That was a long time ago. But over the years the movie keeps coming back to me, in my memories. There were some reviews describing how the plot curves in on itself and returns to where it came from, like a figure-8.

A Movie That's Like The Road That's A Title

a: Mulholland drive ~
b: the road itself

What: "Mulholland Drive is like the road itself, a winding, twisted route through Hollywood with some clear pointers and clues along the route, which, if you chose to ignore them do not stop you getting to your destination". A+ for this analogy.

METAMIA is a free database of analogy and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search. The subject matter can be anything. Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged. The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with the stark literalism of a relational database. Metamia is like a girdle for your muses, a cognitive girdle.
