loyalty

n=2

a: loyalty ~
b: a checking account

What:

"People often feel that loyalty between a boss and a subordinate simply exists. That is a myth. In the most successful companies, loyalty is like a checking account with an expiration date, where the CEO and employees make deposits and withdrawals every working day. Not doing the job well is a withdrawal from a team member's account. If too much time passes without new deposits being made, the account will run dry-no matter how big it was years ago when the team member made a big deposit."

a: loyalty ~
b: juice of an orange

What:

"Someone once said that loyalty is like the juice of an orange – the flavor cannot be determined until the orange is squeezed beyond the breaking point. The Bible testifies to the truthfulness of this statement. Loyalty is one of the most powerful forces within the human heart. Loyalty can produce good results, and misplaced loyalty can produce evil results."

METAMIA is a free database of analogy and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search. The subject matter can be anything. Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged. The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with the stark literalism of a relational database. Metamia is like a girdle for your muses, a cognitive girdle.
