hydrophillic surface of a lipid bilayer
n=1
a: hydrophillic surface of a lipid bilayer ~
b: the surface of a pond
What:
The commonalities are the fluidity of the watery surfaces. If you put a small boat on the surface of pond, it will float and slowly move around. The media in which it is sitting is fluid. The frozen surface of a pond is solid. If a small boat were place on top it would just sit there, motionless.

# 4944 Critique Analogy
METAMIA is a free database of analogy and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search. The subject matter can be anything. Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged. The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with the stark literalism of a relational database. Metamia is like a girdle for your muses, a cognitive girdle.
