Henry Ford=bill Gates

a: Henry ford ~
b: Bill Gates

What: "Henry Ford is like Bill Gates; he was the right guy at the right time and at the right place. I am not saying that Henry Ford or Bill Gates would not have been successful but their tremendous success was dependent on the times that they were born. If Ford or Gates had been born ten years later, someone else would have probably achieved their success instead."

Brave New World?

a: Henry ford ~
b: a God-like symbol

What: "Henry Ford: Henry Ford is like a God-like symbol in the story. In this story people replace the word God in common phrase with the word Ford. People in this story follow all of Ford's beliefs, most notably the assembly line. Everyone has a purpose and does as they're told and can be replaced easily just like in the assembly line. That's why Henry Ford is important. Without him the reader wouldn't know where this society got their beliefs from."

METAMIA is a free database of analogy and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search. The subject matter can be anything. Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged. The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with the stark literalism of a relational database. Metamia is like a girdle for your muses, a cognitive girdle.
