Godzilla Tsunami

a: Godzilla ~
b: A Tsunami or something destructive

What: I've heard these type of Gozilla metaphors bantered around on discussion boards. Is a Tsunami a metaphor for a Godzilla or is Godzilla a metaphor for a Tsunami? It's not clear. The best association I've heard so far is that Godzilla is a metaphor for the Nuclear Annihilation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in WWII.

a: Godzilla ~
b: atomic bomb

What:

"For Godzilla was, even in its bowdlerized "King of the Monsters" incarnation, an obvious gigantic, unsubtle, grimly purposeful metaphor for the atomic bomb. The Americanized "Godzilla,' which removed about 40 minutes from the Japanese original and inserted 20 minutes or so of new scenes featuring a sympathetic Yank journalist (played, with burly gravitas, by Raymond Burr), did its darnedest to minimize the nuclear theme. METAMIA is a free database of analogy and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search. The subject matter can be anything. Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged. The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with the stark literalism of a relational database. Metamia is like a girdle for your muses, a cognitive girdle.
