Dreamy Dreams

a: Dream ~
b: hallucinations filled with symbolism

What: "Dreams are like hallucinations filled with symbolism making them hard to understand. Some dreams are simply the unconscious' way of releasing stressors from the day. There are also premonitory dreams that predict future events. You'll know if that is the case if the event happens or if you have them often. "

Dreaming As College

a: Dream ~
b: nightly college

What: "Dreams are like a form of "nightly collage" where your unconscious and subconscious mind speaks to you in metaphor and pictures. Learning how to "read" your life intuitively by paying attention to your daily events and night time dreams helps you to move forward into your life. "

Cleaning Off The Windshield......

a: A dream ~
b: carwash for the unconscious

What: PTSD researchers have shown that some people who have this can't dream effectively. The researcher has shown that dreaming is a process which can un-mix the fear of a traumatic event from the memory. PTSD sufferers have fused the memory with the emotion and can't seem to separate the 2. With proper healthly dreaming the unconscious mind can wash the fear off the memory. There are drugs that help the process.

METAMIA is a free database of analogy and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search. The subject matter can be anything. Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged. The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with the stark literalism of a relational database. Metamia is like a girdle for your muses, a cognitive girdle.
