a: Cytoplasm ~
b: bathtub water

What: Here's a stab at a cytoplasm/cell analogy. A cell is somewhat like a person sitting in an oval bathtub that full of soapy water and a myriad of toys floating around the tub. The person could be considered the nucleus of the bathtub. He is in charge of all the toys floating within the tub. In this scenario, the water with all the toys, soap and other assorted junk floating around in the water could be considered the cytoplasm. If you want to in-vision something that matches the consistency of a real cell, imagine the same thing with the water replaced with jello pudding.

METAMIA is a free database of analogy and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search. The subject matter can be anything. Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged. The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with the stark literalism of a relational database. Metamia is like a girdle for your muses, a cognitive girdle.
