Chemical Vs Physical

a: Chemical change ~
b: rust

What: The rusting of iron is a chemical change. It is the reaction of atmospheric O2 with metallic iron(Fe++). There is a physical changed caused by this reaction in that the iron changes color and material is not as strong as it once was. If iron is heated to to that point that it melts and goes from a sold to a liquid, without oxidation, that is a physical change.

METAMIA is a free database of analogy and metaphor. Anyone can contribute or search. The subject matter can be anything. Science is popular, but poetry is encouraged. The goal is to integrate our fluid muses with the stark literalism of a relational database. Metamia is like a girdle for your muses, a cognitive girdle.
