Protein Process Making A Ribbon??
a: molecular chaperones ~
b: hands in protein origami
What:
Yes indeed. I'll try to draw a picture of this process. Origami is a process of folding a flat piece of paper into a distinct 3 dimension object. Proteins are linear polymers of amino acids that fold into a 3 dimension entity. The process is complicated and needs guidance to form a functioning protein, thus the need for molecular chaperones. But the analogy would be better if you thought of it as a long narrow piece of paper(a ribbon?) that need to be arranged. The the long skinny structure of a ribbon is analogous to the structure of an amino acid polymer.
