What: "Air flowing though an intake port is like water flowing down a
river. The sides of a flowing river have slow moving water and just
like air moving though an intake port it sides have slow air
movement. This slow moving boundary layer of air is about 1/32 of
inch thick and can collect any big fuel droplets that drop out of the
main air stream flowing though an intake port. Also keep in mind that
this boundary layer of air will increase in size when the engine is
running at lower speeds. Now you can see how fuel will puddle on the
polished port walls just like a cold soda can with water on its
sides."
