What: "To understand proteomics, think of proteins like the circuitry inside a cell. A specific cancer could burn out one particular protein circuit in one patient and an entirely different protein circuit in another because of variations within the patients' cell makeup. Proteomics is like a molecule-o-meter, taking a snapshot of the cell's circuitry to determine which protein circuits are burned out, or defective, as a result of that cancer."
