"As I've researched and applied both solar energy and innovation dynamics for a long time, I'm not a pie-eyed optimist about these matters. What my experience would indicate is that we are entering the very tricky transition phase- solar energy is like the transistor in the '50s or digital news now- the learning curve would indicate that, other things aside, it ascendancy is inevitable. Some of these "other things" are "unknown unknowns", but storage and grid stability are "known unknowns" ie, we know that they exist, although we haven't solved the problems involved. "
