The Prion Moons....

a: Prion ~
b: mis molded protein

What: The prion is a mis-molded, misshaped protein. It's a protein that's supposed to be round like the full moon but it shaped like the crescent moon, more or less. That fact doesn't mean much. What it does do is change the shapes of other proteins that it binds with. Imagine a sky with many full moons and one crescent moon. The crescent moon binds with a full moon and turn it into 2 crescent moons stuck together. The 2 crescent moons then stick to another full moon and then there are 3 crescent moons stuck together. The process continues with all the moons in the sky.
