What: I heard one of the crew on TMZ mention this association. It is valid comparison. Both areas contain many people whose parents, grandparents or great grand parents migrated from the Midwest over the last century, mostly after WWI. The similarities between the two regions are: both are fairly conservative, white and Germanish. Long Beach fits into this scheme as well.
