The Cancer Cell Foot Brake

a: Cancer cell ~
b: a car with defective foot brakes

What: "In another world cancer cells are like cars with defective foot brakes (G1 checkpoint) and they need to rely on the emergency/parking brake (G2 checkpoint) to take curves or drive above bumps." This is a good comparison. It relates the mechanistic failures of a cancer cell to something that is generally understood by most; failing brakes. Cells have the capacity to grow as cars have the capacity to move. Mammalian cells also have the capacity to shut themselves down as car have the capacity to stop. But as noted, a aberrant chemical pathway in a cancer cell will make it unable to stop producing the way worn out break pads diminish a car's capacity to slow down and stop
