a: blood sugar ~
b: balance beam

What:

"The perfect blood sugar range is like walking on a gymnastics balance beam. If you are too high or too low, you can fall off the beam and land on the floor. You may sway a little to one side, and then to the other, but the width for perfect balance is not very wide. It's easy to fall off, so you need to stay conscious and focused. What got me off this ride was something I never expected."
